Begierig darauf, mit dem Profil von The Balvenie zu experimentieren, bestellte er eine Charge Speyside Torf fr den Ofen und baute einen Torfbrenner an der Seite fr zustzliche Torfigkeit. So entstand der Plan einmal im Jahr eine Woche lang nur rauchiges Destillat zu produzieren.
